Eyes on Ministry: Sports & Fitness

Posted by Keda On 4:53 PM

This week, Eyes on Ministry puts the spotlight on Ronald Marshall, the leader of the Sports & Fitness Ministry.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I could go on and on about myself, but its not about me :-)

Does your ministry have a mission/vision statement? If so, what is it?
Our mission is to equip the church/community with ever-changing ways to achieve their sports and fitness goals, through fitness classes, team sports events, quarterly fitness goal challenges and newsletters.

Who can participate in your ministry?
Every adult and youth, 3rd grade and up.

How long have you been involved in the ministry?
Since January 2009.

How long have you been leading the ministry?
Since January 2009.

What caused you to get involved and lead the ministry?
I want to give all a fitness chance.

How has leading this ministry impacted your life?
It keeps me focused.

If you could speak to someone who is considering participating in the ministry, what would you say?
I would encourage them that we have a fitness/exercise routine just for them.

If I were a participant in your ministry, what could I expect?
You could expect to be pushed (passively) to a place that you didn't know was in you.

What kind of feedback do you receive from participants?
Most are glad they came out and thankful that HOPE CHURCH PEARLAND has such a ministry.

What is your most memorable moment as a ministry leader?
The day it first started!

Picture your ministry a year from now. What do you see? What has changed?
I see more people coming out to exercise. With the use of the gym, there will be all types of activities to create different ways to take care of the temple that God has blessed us with on this side.

Any closing thoughts?
It's In You!
